I spoke with someone who had in mind to get kidney stones removed in a couple of weeks per the hospital protocol. I did some reading to see if I could discover some other possible ways to support the kidney or to remove stones. Here are some of the ways I came up with.
1. For pain relief, drink the juice of half a fresh lemon in 8 oz. of water every half hour until pain subsides. You can alternate between lemon juice and fresh apple juice.
2. Drink lots of water. (up to 8 cups/day)
3. Drink fresh lemon juice each morning in warm water first thing to prevent stones from forming.
4. Only eat as much meat as your body wants. Too much helps form calcium deposits in kidney and elsewhere.
5. No carbonated soft drinks
6. From book: try drinking a large amount of liquid (water) allow twenty minutes for digestion, and then run up and down stairs vigorously (3 min.). This has been known to allow small, stubborn kidney stones to pass naturally.
7. Avoid refined sugar products. Sugar causes the pancreas to release insulin, which in turn causes extra calcium to be excreted in the urine.
8. Most kidney stones eventually pass by themselves. (If too big, you may need medical help)
9. Increase intake of zinc. 100 mg a day for 1 month and then test again.
Per book: Taking up to 100 mg. of zinc daily can help inhibit the formation of crystals that later accumulate into stones. (over 100 mg. tends to depress immunity)
10. Juices:
a.Blueberry
b.Cranberry – Drink ½ cup 4x a day
c. Parsnip
d.Raspberry – wonderful for labor pains, morning sickness, kidney stones, fever, painful menstruation, and more.
11. In my essential oil book, it says that VitaGreen supplement supports the kidney, along with tincture K&B from Young Living reference guide.
12. Cucumber is a great way to hydrate your body.
13. Ginger tea can prevent or reduce inflammation and ease pain.
14. Heat over your kidney system – between 5 and 7 pm. (heating pad for 20 min.)
15. You can trace the kidney meridian.
16. Drink 4 cups of citrus juice a day. That is fresh lemon, lime and grapefruit…not orange.
17. 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz of water or your combined juices…to sip on all day. It could take up to 45 days to dissolve stones.
